Flavours for every season

A summer that never ends
In the Algarve, warm days often stretch well beyond summer, and the desire to be outdoors rarely fades. It’s the perfect excuse for a refreshing drink by the sea. Baptista Supermarket offers a wide selection of beverages ideal for those laid-back moments in the sun.
For casual, easy-going meals, the locally brewed Mania craft beers, made in Lagos, make a fine pairing, with the Sun Storm ginger beer being another standout.
Among the cocktail options, the Le Coq ready-mix range offers classic cocktails, both alcoholic and alcohol-free.

For something different to the usual Aperol, the Petroni Spritz makes an excellent alternative, perfect for sipping at sundown by the sea.
Wine lovers can discover three Algarve-produced labels from 2023: Blush and ROSE – both elegant with low sugar and sulphite content – and Quinta da Pedragosa inspired by Rocim, crafted in Barão de São João.
For those who prefer alcohol-free or organic alternatives, there are plenty of options too.

The GUTsy Captain Kombucha, with its well-known digestive health benefits, and the Bio Sicilia range are all available in a variety of flavours.
“As each season approaches, we carefully select products to suit the moment, offering something for every taste,” shares Beatriz Batista, manager of the family-run supermarket, as she hints that preparations for the next season are already underway, with more exciting news to come.

Healthy and ready to go
Whether you’re enjoying a beach afternoon with friends or a quiet picnic in the countryside, Baptista makes it easy to pack flavourful, nutritious snacks on the go.
From Parma, Italy, Chicche biscuits by Mulino Bianco offer a perfect balance of texture and flavour, with an authentic touch of Italian tradition.

For a lighter, sweeter option, Canestrini biscuits – also from Parma – are a delicious homemade-style treat. From the UK, Bear Fruit Splits Strawberry & Apple provide a 100% fruit snack that’s naturally sweet and light, free from added sugar or artificial ingredients.

Easy to carry around, they’re “perfect for anyone looking for a nutritious bite with a London seal of quality”.
For something with a richer fruit flavour, Bear Squash Bites are made purely from pressed fruit, with no added sugar, colourants, or preservatives, making them “a great choice for both children and adults seeking a wholesome, convenient treat”, says Beatriz Batista.
More to come
Although summer is the supermarket’s busiest season, Baptista remains just as active throughout the rest of the year, with a continued focus on modernisation and enhanced customer service.

“We’re dedicated to bringing in new ideas all year round,” says Beatriz Batista. The supermarket’s care for the local community, especially residents, is clear from the moment you walk through the door, and with every update made to the website or social media channels.
The drive to improve and innovate is ongoing, from Talho Baptista – the in-house butcher’s counter – to the new staff uniforms and now the Click and Collect service, which includes personalised assistance both during online order pick-up and at the checkout, with help available to carry purchases to the car.
“We deeply value our regular customers, who have supported us from the very beginning, and we’re committed to offering a service of ever-increasing quality and excellence,” adds the manager.
