– October 21, 2025

Portimão will welcome the world triathlon series – TRITON World Series Grand Final 2025 – which will take place in the Marina area from October 24 to 26.
Bringing together athletes from 15 different countries, TRITON is a new global competition that aims to “change the reality of triathlon through constant innovation and a strong brand”.

The triathlon will feature an innovative “stages triathlon” format, in which each discipline will be contested on a different day.
The first-ever world final of this new circuit will begin with a swimming race on Friday, October 24, starting at 4pm at Portimão Marina Beach. The following day, Saturday, October 25, the cycling stage will start early in the morning at 7.30am, at the Portimão Marina. The final race to conclude the triathlon will be on Sunday, October 26, with the running stage, starting at 9am, also at the Portimão Marina.

Five simultaneous races will be held across different distances: Sprint will comprise 1km of swimming, 36km of cycling, and 7km of running; Middle will feature 2km of swimming, 72km of cycling, and 14km of running; and Long will include 3km of swimming, 108km of cycling, and 21km of running.

Both women’s and men’s titles will be contested across the three distances. There will also be a corporate competition, and the final stage of the world ranking, which awards points in various events throughout the year, with this final worth triple the points.
In addition to these competitions, there will also be a promotional event for children and parents, featuring a swimming race followed by a race on the sand, as well as a long division for Paralympic athletes.

According to the President of TRITON, Paulo Leite, “this event reinforces Portimão’s role as a destination of excellence, capable of attracting visitors and boosting the local economy well beyond the high season”.
This first international edition is organised by the LOFF (Leave Only Friends and Footprints) Association, which will also hold events in Portugal, Brazil, the UAE, China, Ireland, Greece, and the United States next year.
