Beachfront luxury
Hilton has unveiled plans for the development of Conrad Meia Praia Algarve, a luxury beachfront resort set to open in spring 2027.
Located along the pristine Meia Praia beach near Lagos, the new resort will be part of Hilton’s expanding portfolio of luxury properties in Europe.
The project, a collaboration between PGIM Real Estate, Sonae Sierra, and Iberian Hospitality Solutions (IHSP), marks their second partnership with Hilton. In addition to the resort, the development will include 21 Conrad-branded residences.
Conrad Meia Praia Algarve will feature 116 rooms and suites, offering sweeping sea views and private pools. Resort amenities will include two signature restaurants, a contemporary beach club, bars, indoor and outdoor pools, a Conrad spa, a modern fitness centre, and a versatile event space.
With a total investment of around €65 million, the venture aims to enhance the Algarve’s hotel offering and diversify its portfolio of premium properties.
Hilton promises the resort will showcase Conrad’s signature blend of “bold, contemporary design, intuitive service and experiences that authentically connect guests to the Algarve”.
Dan Wakeling, vice president of Development – Luxury & Residential for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Hilton, commented: “Conrad Meia Praia Algarve represents a key milestone in Hilton’s growth strategy in the luxury segment in Europe.
It will strengthen our Conrad brand and offer guests a new way to experience luxury in one of Portugal’s most sought-after destinations.”
Dino Michael, senior vice president and head of Hilton’s luxury brands category, highlighted the resort as an “extraordinary canvas” to express contemporary luxury, blending bold design, intuitive service, and the region’s natural beauty. “As travellers seek a deeper connection to the world around them, this resort will provide an experience shaped by culture, craftsmanship, and authenticity.”
The joint venture partners – Sierra, PGIM and IHSP – echoed Hilton’s enthusiasm, emphasising their commitment to developing world-class hotel experiences.
“Conrad Meia Praia Algarve aligns with our strategy, which focuses on the acquisition, development and active management of differentiated hotel assets in established tourist destination. The Algarve’s strong appeal makes it an ideal location for this project,” they said in a statement.
