A fresh expansion
Year after year, Lagos Intermarché has kept pace with changing consumer habits, food innovation and evolving customer expectations.
Since its last major refurbishment in 2017, the store has grown steadily, strengthening its product ranges, introducing new items, modernising services and increasing its capacity to respond to the needs of the local community.
This continuous development made it clear that a more structural transformation was needed.
“We felt it was time to create better conditions to welcome a wider range of products and provide customers with more choice in a space that is easier and more comfortable to navigate,” explains a representative of Lagos Intermarché.
With this in mind, the fresh produce area has been expanded, now covering 1,800m². This strategic decision reinforces the focus on quality, in-house production and the overall shopping experience.
Among the highlights is the doubling of the barbecue production area, along with a larger chilled section that allows the store to introduce additional products in line with current consumer trends.
The store has also reorganised its promotional area and concentrated it along the central aisle. This layout gives greater prominence to ongoing campaigns while making it simpler for shoppers to find the best offers. According to the store, the aim is to reinforce the discount element of the supermarket without disrupting the natural flow of the shopping experience.
More than a simple expansion, this intervention represents a clear statement: fresh products are at the heart of the store. Investing in the structure also means investing in perceived quality, closer relationships with customers and the value of in-house production.
Lagos Intermarché continues to consolidate its position as a trusted local supermarket, growing in a way that balances expansion, efficiency and the expectations of the community it serves every day.
