Part of the intersection to be closed during the 30-day intervention period
– May 15, 2024
The Municipality of Portimão is carrying out a small intervention in the area of the Ria de Alvor walkways, due to visible signs of collapse.
The aim of the intervention is to improve the access conditions.
Repair works started on Monday and are estimated to take place for 30 days, with some parts of the walkway expected to be closed for the time being.
The Ria de Alvor walkways are visited by thousands of residents and visitors who use them throughout the year. The intervention will help maintain optimal conditions, ensuring a pleasant, easy, and relaxing experience while exploring the Ria’s biodiversity.
The walkways have a total length of 6km and are an essential component of the “Ao Sabor da Maré” nature trail, which includes wooden walkways and dirt trails that non-invasively cross marshes, small lagoons, and sections of the dune ranges within this diverse ecosystem.
