Portimão’s Vista among two Algarve restaurants to earn three Suns as region continues to boost Portugal’s dining scene

Guia Repsol Portugal 2026 has unveiled its winners, with the Algarve once again in the spotlight as two restaurants earned the guide’s highest distinction of three Suns.

The awards were announced during a gala held at the Garcia de Resende Theatre in Évora, presented by Joana Barrios and Renato Duarte. Vila Joya, in Albufeira, led by chef Dieter Koschina, and Vista, in Portimão, under João Oliveira, both received three Suns. Portugal now has six restaurants holding this top distinction.

The guide awards ceremony saw 41 establishments receiving the guide’s coveted Suns for the second consecutive year, 9 new restaurants awarded two Suns, and 30 receiving one Sun. A further 79 venues were included as Guia Repsol Restaurants, a category replacing the former Recommended distinction. The updated guide also includes entries from the islands of Pico and Terceira.

Vista stood out once more as one of four winners of a Sustainable Sun awarded this year, one in each category. Other winners includedMesa de Lemos (two Suns), Ciclo (one Sun) and Pão & Pizza (Guia Repsol Restaurant).
