A breath of fresh air

Established as a family-run business in 1999, the management of Baptista Supermarket has been passed down from generation to generation, and this year marks a new transition.

With a degree in Political Science from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and a degree in Project Management from ILX in England, Beatriz Batista has taken over leadership at the Luz supermarket.

With her contagious energy and pleasant humour, the niece of the business partner Rui Batista, is bringing a host of new features and innovations to this local staple.

Without hesitation, she boldly took on the challenge, investing in modernisation, diversification, and product quality.

Beatriz Batista intends to keep alive the dream of her grandparents, who founded the supermarket and were responsible for its successful start, always relying on team effort and a lot of dedication.

“I feel in a position to continue and improve with all the strength I can muster, being open to new ideas, always focused on continually improving our offer,” she discloses.

From the butcher’s counter to the self-service bakery, including renovated equipment and new uniforms, the changes are already visible, both inside the supermarket and outside, where there is now a delightful and spacious terrace. More than just a place to shop with excellent service, Baptista strives to continue establishing itself as a must-stop for both residents and visitors alike.
