Back for its 12th edition, the party will feature live music, DJs, street entertainment and family activities
One of the Algarve’s most anticipated summer events is almost here, with the countdown underway for the 12th Carvoeiro Black & White Night, taking place on June 20 (Saturday).
Running from 8.30pm until 3am, the open-air festival will transform the village into a giant stage featuring seven performance areas, live music, DJs, dance, cinema, street entertainment and family activities.
Carvoeiro’s biggest night of the year marks the unofficial start of the Algarve’s peak tourist season, and party-goers are encouraged to embrace the night’s signature black-and-white dress code.
The evening will open with a performance by Quarteto Sul’Arte at sunset in the beach square. Portuguese singer João Faísca will then take to Stage 2, whilst percussionist Vasco Ramalho will present his solo project Marimba Essences on Stage 1.
Attendees can also enjoy a silent disco, a deep house session on Carvoeiro beach, screenings of the 1922 short film “The Frozen North”, and a dedicated Kids Corner packed with activities for younger visitors.
Among the headline acts are Brazilian singer Lidia Brandão on Stage 2, Mexican group Mariachi Mezcal on Stage 3, Portuguese folk favourites Six Irish Men on Stage 5, and DJs Francisco Gil, Pedro Carrilho and Christian F, who will provide a soundtrack ranging from 1970s classics to contemporary dance hits.
As midnight approaches, the focus will shift to the beach, where hundreds of party-goers turn the sand into a giant dancefloor.
Entry to the event is free. Lagoa Municipal Council will provide free shuttle transport between the designated parking areas at Fatacil, Gramital and Intermarché, from 6pm to 4am.
