The 44th edition will take place between August 22 and 31
Returning for its 44th edition between August 22 and 31, FATACIL has announced the line-up of artists performing this year: Fernando Daniel will kick off the fair on the 22nd, followed by a DJ mix by radio station M80 (23rd), Badoxa (24th), Nininho Vaz Maia (25th), Wet Bed Gang (26th), Van Zee (27th), Quim Barreiros (28th), Matias Damásio (29th), Delfins (30th), and, finally, Fado singer Mariza will close off the festivities on the 31st.
Last year, FATACIL attracted over 200,000 visitors to Lagoa in what proved to be a historic edition after tickets sold out on August 24 for the first time in the event’s 43-year history, with the increase of the fair’s venue area believed to have played an important role in the successful results.
A new stage, ‘Palco Algarve’, where local artists performed helped “diversify” the event’s programme, which featured “several shows and activities at the same time for different audiences”, said Lagoa mayor Luís Encarnação, adding that the goal in recent years has been to “innovate and make FATACIL more dynamic” so that visitors feel like “they cannot see everything in one day and will want to come back the next day”.
