Concerts and events featuring big names from the Portuguese music scene
The municipality of Lagos has announced its calendar of events for the year, featuring some of the biggest names in Portuguese music, including Marisa Liz, Matias Damásio, Dino Santiago, Carlão, Ana Moura, Tanya and Nininho Vaz Maia.
From Feira Concurso Arte Doce to Festa do Banho 29 and the New Year’s Eve party, Lagos is set to attract thousands of visitors this year.
The Marchas Populares (Popular Marches) will take place from June 11 to 13, filling Praça do Infante with colour, music and creativity for three days, bringing together the community and local groups in one of the most iconic expressions of Portuguese tradition.
The 37th edition of the Sweet Art Fair and Competition will take place from July 22 to 26, once again bringing together traditional confectionery and local crafts alongside live music. The line-up includes Marisa Liz (July 22), Matias Damásio (July 23), Dino Santiago (July 24), Carlão (July 25) and Ana Moura (July 26).
Meanwhile, the Lagos Book Fair will return to the historic centre from August 1 to 11, bringing together publishers, authors and a range of initiatives dedicated to promoting reading.
One of Lagos’s most cherished traditions, Festa do Banho 29 invites the public to gather at Cais da Solaria and Jardim da Constituição for an evening of music, food and drink, a swimwear contest and a performance by Tanya. The occasion will also be celebrated at Praia da Luz, organised by the Clube Recreativo Cultural e Desportivo Luzense, with a programme to be announced.
In September, Jardim da Constituição will host another edition of Noites no Cais, from September 4 to 6, featuring three shows set against the night-time backdrop of Cais das Descobertas.
The year will end with Christmas celebrations and a New Year’s Eve party at Praça do Infante, headlined by Nininho Vaz Maia, who will welcome the start of 2027 in Lagos.
According to Lagos Mayor Hugo Pereira, these landmark events are moments when the community comes together to celebrate the best of the city through music, culture, gastronomy and tradition. “We want Lagos to continue to establish itself as a place where tradition and culture coexist side by side, creating unique experiences for residents and visitors alike,” he added.
More events are set to be announced by the municipality of Lagos through its official channels.
