Ocean Restaurant, Best Luxury Restaurant in the World 2021, wins Michelin Star for the 11th consecutive year

– December 15, 2021

Chef Hans Neuner’s Ocean Restaurant in Vila Vita Parc Resort (Porches, Lagoa) has retained its two Michelin stars,  adding yet another victory to the team’s portfolio after having received two international awards in October this year for Best Luxury Restaurant in the World (2021) and Best Locally Sourced Produce Menu by The World Luxury Awards.

“We are happy and always honoured to be part of the @michelin world, seeing our Michelin stars maintained. It’s 11 years of Michelin stars now! Thank you fantastic team!” was posted on the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Created under the strategic vision of Kurt Gillig, Managing Director at Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, in Porches, who has put the region on the world gastronomy map, restaurant Ocean, whose cuisine has been led by Chef Hans Neuner since 2007, offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the perfect combination of sublime cuisine, impeccable service and an elegant atmosphere, but stripped.

Bon Bon owner Nuno Diogo has celebrated the restaurant’s accomplishment which has come after a change in kitchen leadership and at the end of an “atypical and very difficult year on every level for the restaurant sector.”

As Nuno Diogo pointed out, this was the seventh straight year that Bon Bon has received a Michelin star.

“This is a distinction that honours us greatly in a particularly difficult year, one of many sacrifices and uncertainty,” he said, adding that receiving the Michelin star comes as a “prize for all the difficulties we overcame this year”.

“It is an award that leaves us proud, but that should also leave Lagoa proud for having a restaurant of unmatched quality,” he said.

“I also want to thank chef José Lopes, our whole team at Bon Bon and those who contributed to its success with commitment, creativity and sacrifice,” the owner added.
