Christmas magic returns to Porches with market stalls, music and family fun

Porches is preparing its 3rd edition of Porches Vila Natal, taking place between Friday, December 5 and Sunday, December 7, across the village streets.

A Christmas market will feature local artisans and producers, along with live music, food and entertainment for the whole family.

Everyone is invited to join the Christmas parade and take part in the final stretch of Father Christmas’ journey to Porches. Whether by motorcycle or car, the meeting point is at 2pm on December 6 at the Old Alporchinhos School of Crastos (Sede do Grupo Motard de Porches). The parade sets off at 3pm and arrives at the Christmas Village at 3.30pm.

Children will also have Santa’s House and inflatables to enjoy.

The Christmas Village will be open from 2pm to 8pm each day, except Saturday, when it will stay open until 10pm.

For more information, visit the organisation’s Facebook page.

The event is organised by ACDR Porches Association, together with the municipality of Lagoa and the Junta de Freguesia of Porches.

Traffic in the area will be restricted and parking will not be allowed during the event. Road closures will be in place from December 4 until 9am on December 8, with event dismantling scheduled for December 8 and 10. These measures will affect the streets within the event perimeter: Rua da Cerca de Fora, Rua Professor Reis, Rua António Joaquim Cabrita, Rua da Alagoinha, Rua João Silva, Rua da Praça, Rua da Igreja, Rua Padre António Gregório Cabrita and Rua José Carapeto.
