Explore António Vasconcelos Lapa’s vivid ceramics featuring surreal forms, circus scenes, and traditional Portuguese tile influences
Comprising a series of ceramic works by António Vasconcelos Lapa, Lugar Lugares is on display at the Mascarenhas Gregório Theatre in Silves until October 31.
The carefully selected pieces are part of the Luís Negrão e Família Collection, curated by Hugo Santos Silva.
The exhibition highlights Lapa’s distinctive, imaginative style, with vibrant colours, surreal forms, and references to circus scenes, strange creatures and traditional Portuguese tiles.
Organised by Silves Council, the exhibition is part of a broader effort to promote contemporary national artists and encourage public engagement with the arts.
The theatre is open Monday to Saturday from 10am-1pm and 2pm-6pm.
Admission is free.
