This year’s edition brings together solo piano, jazz piano, four-hand piano and orchestra

Lagoa welcomes 4th Piano Festival with four different concerts

Starting this May 7th, the 4th edition of the Lagoa Piano Festival comes to four different Lagoa boroughs.

The festival, organised by Artis XXI – Associação de Educação Artística de Lagoa, will take place each Sunday at 6.30pm throughout this month.

This year’s theme will be about reflecting on the piano in its various dimensions, with different musical interpretations, ranging from solo piano, jazz piano, four-hand piano, and piano concertos with orchestra.

Programme for the 4th Lagoa Piano Festival:

I Concert – Entrelaçamentos (Interlacings) | May 7 at 6.30pm | Lagoa’s Main Church

Piano Recital by Ingrid Sotolarova and José Pedro Ribeiro

II Concert – Encontros não imediatos (Non Immediate Encounters) | May 14 at 6.30pm | Hotel Carvoeiro Plaza

Piano Jazz by Paula Sousa and Beatriz Nunes

III Concert – Piano Recital by Diana Botelho Vieira | May 21 at 6.30pm | ADR – Quinta de S. Pedro | Mexilhoeira da Carregação

Piano Recital by Diana Botelho Vieira

IV Concert – ARTIS XXI Orchestra | May 28 at 6.30pm | Sala Carlos Paredes | ACD Ferragudo

Conductor Jorge Macedo and Piano João Luís Rosa

 

Tickets are available at artisxxi.bol.pt, CTT, Fnac and Worten stores, Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, Centro Cultural Convento de S. José and at the Lagoa City Council. Children under 18 do not pay.
