More than 700 exhibitors confirmed for this year’s edition across handicrafts, gastronomy, agriculture, tourism, commerce and industry
FATACIL, one of the Algarve’s biggest annual events, has been awarded the Cinco Estrelas Regiões 2026 distinction, recognising its contribution to the region’s culture, tourism and economy. The 45th edition runs from August 21 to 30 at the Municipal Fair and Exhibition Park in Lagoa.
The award, based on the opinions of Portuguese consumers, recognises products, services and cultural icons that best represent each region. Around 500,000 consumers evaluated more than 1,000 brands and initiatives across Portugal as part of the Cinco Estrelas Regiões programme, with FATACIL selected among the Algarve’s standout attractions.

Lagoa mayor Luís Encarnação welcomed the recognition, saying it reflects the continued development of the event over recent years. “This recognition represents the continuous work carried out over decades, particularly over the last 12 years, to strengthen FATACIL as a key event for both the municipality and the region,” he said.
“It is also a reflection of the public’s trust and the fair’s ability to establish itself as a unique space for promoting the local economy, culture and traditions.”
First held in 1980, FATACIL has grown from a local agricultural and handicrafts fair into the largest and most significant event of its kind in southern Portugal, attracting thousands of visitors every summer and providing a platform for businesses, producers and organisations from across the country.
This year’s programme includes performances by Tony Carreira (August 21), M80 (August 22), Hybrid Theory (August 23), Vizinhos (August 24), Plutónio (August 25), Sara Correia (August 26), Quim Barreiros (August 27), Richie Campbell (August 28), Nininho Vaz Maia (August 29), Os Quatro e Meia (August 30).
