French Circus “Inextremiste” will test Portimão’s limits with an aerial spectacle

The Zona Ribeirinha will be the stage of an unmissable new street circus theatre show called “EXIT” this May 3

An unforgettable show will take place at Portimão’s riverside (Zona Ribeirinha), near the Clube Naval De Portimão.

The French company “Cirque Inextremiste” and its hot air balloon will transform the city’s skyline into an “unusual scenographic universe”, where the artists’ aerial acrobatics will “cohabit with the stars”.

The show promises to toe the line between art and madness, wherein the audience will be able to “immerse themselves body and soul” in an open-air theatre transformed by the flight of the hot air balloon, transformed into an amusement park by a group of acrobats determined to “carry out a single mission,” which is to “free themselves from their straitjackets and escape from a world governed by rigid and implacable rules”.

The show entitled “EXIT”, will start at 7pm this Friday, with a troupe “used to challenging the most extreme limits”.

Under the artistic direction of Yann Ecauvre and technical direction of Bastien Roussel, “EXIT” will feature a talented ensemble including Yann himself as the pilot, Solenne Capmas and Julie Delaire as singer/musicians, Serge Lazar and Julien Favreuille as acrobats/musicians, Laurent Mollon as an acrobat/pilot, Etienne Cordeau and Nicolas Pouchard as acrobats, and Delphine Dupin as an acrobat. The lighting and effects will be orchestrated by Jacques Bouault and Jacques-Benoît Dardant, while the hot air balloon concept will be brought to life by Bérengère Giaux.

Directed by Yann Ecauvre and encompassing around 50 members, Cirque Inextremiste has been performing in theatres and festivals throughout Europe “since 2007, under the banner of a gas canister”. With biting humour and experiencing real risk, the company always pushes the boundaries to the extreme.

The show is part of the artistic programme created by Lavrar o Mar Cooperativa Cultural to celebrate the centenary of Portimão’s elevation to city status (1924-2024), under a partnership established with the Municipality of Portimão.

The show will last around 45 minutes and is free and open to all ages.
