Lagoa chosen once again as location for an international shoot
The council of Lagoa has once again been selected as the setting for an international Netflix production, with the series La Casa de Papel filmed in Ferragudo. The village is known for its traditional fishing heritage and its close connection to both the Arade River and the Atlantic Ocean.
The shoot is another sign of Lagoa’s growing reputation as an attractive destination for the international audiovisual industry, with its natural landscapes, iconic beaches, cliffs and local authenticity.
The municipality has increasingly focused on attracting film and television productions, recognising the visibility and promotional value these projects bring to the region.
Beyond the global exposure from productions linked to platforms such as Netflix, the council also highlights the economic impact created by filming activity, particularly during the quieter tourism months. Production crews, actors and technical teams generate additional demand for accommodation, restaurants, commerce and local services, benefiting businesses across the municipality.
“The growing demand for audiovisual productions in the municipality proves Lagoa is a competitive and increasingly versatile destination of excellence for television and cinema productions,” the council adds.
