The 13 scheduled concerts are set to take place in different locations in the municipality, showcasing the artistic and cultural heritage of the town of Lagoa, as well as offering different thematic proposals. The festival opens at the church of Ferragudo, in honor of the 500 Years of the Place of Ferragudo, with guitarist Francisco Morais Franco and Ensemble Med. The following day sees the church of Estômbar welcoming Ricardo Leitão Pedro and the Castra Leuca trio.

On the following weekend, at Sítio das Fontes, visitors will have the opportunity to listen to 5Ex Band and Galandum Galundaina (19th) and the Curch of Porches will set the stage for the unique presence of the soloists’ group from the Portuguese Orchestra of Guitars and Mandolins (20th).

To close off the festival, the last weekend of September has an exceptional programme, starting on the 25th at the São José Convent Cultural Centre with the Aighetta Quartett, and the next day, the amphitheater of Carvoeiro receives the Valencia Guitar Duo and Ó Chibinha group. On Sunday 27th, at Sítio das Fontes, there will be Portuguese guitars and 7 strings by Miguel Amaral & Yuri Reis and the famous quartet of the renowned flamenco performer Jesús Guerrero.

The International Guitar Festival of Lagoa comes to an end on October 1 — World Music Day — at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, with the extraordinary Andalusian Concert by Joaquin Rodrigo performed by the Concordis Guitar Quartet and the Bontempo Orchestra.
