An afternoon of exhibitions, live music and a themed outfit showcase

The Marina de Lagos Art Academy will once again present its annual open-air cultural event on Saturday, September 13, from 4pm to 7pm at the Marina.

The afternoon promises sculpture and painting exhibitions, live music, wine and an imaginative outfit showcase, all open for the public to enjoy.

This year’s theme for the outfit exhibition is ‘Mermaids’, bringing a touch of fantasy and creativity to the waterfront setting.

Artworks by several international artists will be on display, including Birgit Bauer, Ola Sobolewska Wrzosek, António Miguel, and Kasia Wrona (the Art Academy’s artistic director) , and after weeks of intensive, multi-stage judging, the event will also showcase the winners of the children’s online competition. The young artists will be formally recognised at the event, and visitors will have the opportunity to select their favourite pieces, giving the children’s work a chance to be celebrated.

Music will be provided by DJ Dom, who will keep the atmosphere lively, bringing Latin dance, hip-hop, reggaeton, Brazilian funk, rock, salsa, samba and R&B, alongside nostalgic hits from the 1980s and 1990s.

The organisers have highlighted the support of Marina de Lagos, the Embassy of Poland in Portugal, and the municipalities of Bensafrim and Barão de São João.
