Portimão’s centenary celebrations spark the debut of the Noitada Festival

In honour of its centenary, Portimão is set to dazzle with the debut of the Noitada Festival, transforming the city centre into a vibrant celebration of music, art, and culture on July 26 and 27.

For two days, the city’s most iconic areas will come alive with an array of live performances, light installations, and interactive displays, all part of Noitada de Portimão – Festival of Light, Art and Culture.

Festival-goers will be treated to performances by renowned Portuguese artists such as HMB, Para Sempre Marco, Bateu Matou, and Pânico. Adding to the visual feast, laser shows will light up the city, creating a unique and festive atmosphere.

One of the festival’s highlights includes several art installations paying tribute to the sea, reflecting Portimão’s rich maritime heritage. Additionally, a regional market will offer visitors a chance to explore and purchase a variety of local and artisanal products.

The event will feature multiple stages, with Praça da República serving as the main stage for the biggest shows. Largo da Mó will host “Fado ao Luar”, an enchanting experience set to the soulful sounds of Fado music. Meanwhile, a Silent Disco will offer a modern twist, allowing participants to dance to their choice of music via their phones.

Spectacular light and neon displays, including video mapping, will transform building façades into giant screens, providing a visual treat not to be missed. For families, a dedicated Kids Zone will turn the playground into a neon wonderland, complete with characters and inflatables, ensuring fun for all ages.

“Noitada de Portimão promises to be a memorable event, capturing the spirit and culture of the city while offering a weekend of entertainment and celebration,” say the organisers.
