Oktoberfest returns to Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches this September

Germany’s iconic Oktoberfest comes to the Algarve with plenty of beer, dancing, and traditional Bavarian treats

Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches will once again host Oktoberfest, the end-of-summer event in the Algarve, bringing the festive atmosphere of Munich to the region, taking place from September 24 to October 5.

The Biergarten, run by the luxury resort Vila Vita Parc, will recreate the traditional German beer hall experience, featuring long shared tables, Bavarian specialities, and Erdinger Weissbier, one of Germany’s most respected breweries and a long-standing partner of the event.

Live music by a traditional Bavarian band – familiar to regular festival-goers – will add to the authentic atmosphere, along with good food and plenty of beer.

Inspired by Germany’s most famous beer festival, which began in Munich in 1810, the event celebrates Bavarian traditions – but with an Algarve twist.

Oktoberfest 2025

Oktoberfest began when a public festival was held to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. What started as a local celebration with horse races and beer has grown into the world’s largest folk festival, attracting millions of visitors every year.

Today, Oktoberfest is famous for its lively atmosphere, traditional Bavarian music, hearty food, and – above all – its beer served in large steins.

The event will run daily, except on September 29 and 30, when it will be closed.

Bookings for groups of eight or more can be made by calling Vila Vita Biergarten on +351 282 310 100 or email [email protected].
