Portimão is once again the International Capital of Rhythmic Gymnastics

The city is preparing to host another round of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup circuit at the Portimão Arena pavilion, welcoming the 31st International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, taking place between May 4 and 6, and the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup 2024, between May 10 and 12.

Around 103 gymnasts from 28 countries across five continents will compete, bringing together the promising young world elite of rhythmic gymnastics to the Algarve.

The event, organised by the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation and the Municipality of Portimão, promises to bring to life the excitement and beauty of the sport.

The 31st International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament will take place from Saturday (May 4) to Monday (May 6), starting at 10am on Saturday and Sunday, and at 2pm on Monday for the Finals.

The Gymnastics World Challenge Cup will span the full day on Friday (May 10) and Saturday (May 11), starting in the morning and concluding at 7.30pm and 8pm respectively, with a lunch break in between. On Sunday, the day of the Finals, the event starts at 2.30pm, with Individual and Group Finals, culminating with the awards ceremony starting at 7.15pm, and the closing ceremony at 8pm.

Entrance is free. The full programme can be viewed here.
