The journey continues
The Zoomarine waterpark is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a new visual identity and new attractions for the 2026 season, including the launch of the NAUTILUS rollercoaster.
The marine park in Guia has reopened for the new season, marking more than three decades since it first opened its doors in 1991.
Over the years, Zoomarine says it has built its identity around “combining entertainment and learning in a single experience”, becoming part of the “memories and experiences of thousands of families over several generations”.
To mark the milestone, the park has introduced a refreshed brand. According to Zoomarine, the rebrand is intended to accompany the growth of a project that has evolved into a destination bringing together a “modern zoo, amusement park and water park in one location”.
Visually, the updated identity adopts a more “contemporary and fluid style”. The logo has been simplified to improve readability and adaptability across digital and physical platforms, whilst still retaining references to “water, fun and the emotions associated with a visit to Zoomarine”.
The park says the refreshed look goes beyond aesthetics, aiming to reinforce the emotional connection visitors experience during each trip with family, friends or through contact with nature.
The initiative remains aligned with its mission to “promote knowledge, conservation and environmental education in a fun and passionate way that helps bring visitors closer to marine life.”
As part of the rebranding process, Zoomarine says materials linked to the previous logo will be recycled or reused through a partnership with the Merece movement, which will transform them into urban furniture.
Old staff uniforms will also be repurposed. Items in good condition without branding will be donated to local organisations, whilst uniforms that still carry the logo will be turned into beds and blankets for employees’ pets, with remaining materials going to animal welfare groups.
Zoomarine’s 35-year history also reflects its work in conservation and environmental awareness. The park was the first in Portugal to establish a Marine Species Rehabilitation Centre and has recently partnered with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to create the first Species Survival Centre focused on behaviour change.
For the new season, visitors will also be able to experience the NAUTILUS rollercoaster, described by the park as an attraction that promises an exhilarating ride combining adrenaline and fun in a family-friendly experience.
Alongside the new ride, the season will feature the return of popular zoological presentations and immersive habitats, including the Oceanus Aquarium, the Americas area and the Butterfly Garden. Attractions such as Jurassic River, Iguaçu and the 4D Cinema will also remain part of the park’s offer.
