Local chefs José Pinheiro and João Marreiros join forces for the first Adiafa ARVAD this October

ARVAD winery in Estômbar will host the first edition of Adiafa on October 10, bringing together local chefs José Pinheiro of Eira do Mel and João Marreiros of LOKI for a four-hands dinner inspired by Algarve flavours and local produce.

The event takes its name from the traditional meal shared at the end of the agricultural season, particularly following the grape harvest. With Arabic origins, the word is linked to hospitality, celebration and gathering around the table.

Held under the theme The harvest ends. The table begins, the evening will celebrate the close of the harvest season through a menu created especially for the occasion and paired with ARVAD wines.

José Pinheiro’s cooking is closely connected to Vila do Bispo and the traditional flavours of the western Algarve, whilst João Marreiros draws inspiration from the Monchique hills, seasonality and the region’s wild ingredients.

The menu will feature familiar Algarve produce including biqueirão, oysters, small-spotted catshark, lamb, medronho and blackberries, reinterpreted by the two chefs and served alongside a selection of ARVAD wines.

The evening begins at 7pm with a glass of ARVAD Negra Mole Rosé Sparkling Wine and finger food, before guests sit down at a single long table shared between 50 people.

Courses will be served on shared platters in a communal nature traditionally associated with an Adiafa meal.

The dinner takes place at ARVAD in Estômbar on October 10. Tickets cost €120.

Bookings can be made at arvad.pt or by emailing [email protected].
